As someone who is from New York. Most the allure that one may be familiar with New York is long gone. That would include the views the skyscrapers and usual commercial views. That doesn't mean those things aren't made out to be what people believe they are. In this short blog I will confirm or disprove some of conception foreigners may have about New York or America in general.
The first thing we have to take about is the public transportation. As any Amercian would tell you it absolutely filthy. whether it is the subways or the buses, there is always something on the seats or on the ground. it is just a nature of the resident that frequent the subways. Something else that stems from the poor behavior of the system is the abundance of rats. The size of the rodents can easily rival that of a house cat.
As you can see the rats are quite bold as well. After dwelling with humans so long any sense of fear is long gone from them. This is thanks to them sharing a similar diet to us humans. Food in New York especially is calorie dense. When most people think of an American meal, they usual picture a hamburgers and fries or perhaps a slice of pizza and a can of cola.
however, what many don't realize is just how big the pizza slices are and how calorically dense a single slice can be. A normal slice of pizza in New York can be the size of one's hand triple in size (depending on one's hand size of course). The calorie can range between 500-1800 depending on the type of pizza according to this Article. This in conjunction with the can of soda would range between the 600-800 range. The truth is food in New York is not particularly tasty or anything but rather just simply large and heavily seasoned.
Despite me bad mouthing New York as much as I did there are many great aspects of New York as well. For one the parks in New York are quite large and full of amenities. How well the amenities are kept are dependent on the area that you visit.
his is true for the libraries in New Yorks as well. There is often various event held in the libraries and parks for free that people can attend. For more budget Travellers they are probably one of the best places one can go to. This can be quite useful as New York is quite expensive especially in the city.
New York is just a tireless city with plenty to do. The quality varies but two things that doesn't change is how much there is to do and how annoying it can be to try to do them.
The last time I went to New York was in the summer of 2001 for my high school graduation trip. I wonder how much it has changed since. I remember enjoying street food and the sights and sounds of New York. I also remember it being somewhat expensive, which is why we stayed the night at a hotel in New Jersey.
What are Eroges/Visual novels? Gaming is quite common everywhere now. Most youths have played some form of video games may it be shooters, platformers or action games. like those Visual novels/Eroge are a genre of its own. However, this is not as nearly widely known as the other video game genre. For this reason, i hope to be able to introduce you to this unique type of gaming. Visual or Eroges are actually a derivative of the adventure genre of games. However, unlike most adventure games they are less focus on the gameplay, but more on the narrative of the game. Like the name suggest the game is often comparable to that of a novel, but with a strong emphasis on strong visual and audio components. Gameplay Elements Visual novels are development of the text-based adventure games that were popular for PCs back in the 80s. Even to this day many of the visual novel is text based and is released for PC users in mind. Though through the y...
Introduction As an exchange student from New York, the first thing everyone ask me is what is your name? when I reply that that my name is Jonathan. I always get some surprised look from the foreigners. Maybe it is the way I look. My parents are Chinese and the ways Asian people look they aren't really all that different from each other. The truth is i don't even know myself sometimes. Despite growing up in America, i have always considered more Asian than American. i grew up on not American food but on the meals my grandma and dad cooks for me. growing up, they always told me American food is terrible for you and forbid me from going to fast food places. This obvious came back to haunt me as adult. As an adult i binge on McDonald way to often and now I am way to fat. of course, I can blame it all on food. My lifestyle is an issue as well. I live a very sedentary lifestyle revolving around my computer and my pencils. As a major there isn't...
